If you came into 2011 not having heard of Marc Simz, its unlikely you're going to leave the year the same way. For a while now the Dutch DJ and producer's been generating buzz as the resident at Nijmegen's The Matrixx – one of Holland's biggest clubs and a thriving hotbed of synths, strings and all things trance. Over the last 12 months, through ITWT tracks like 'Forbidden City', 'Stealth' & 'Delusory Hopes', alongside his Aerofoil collabs 'Knights Templar' and 'Xplode 2011', he well and truly marked his card as one to watch.
What better way then to finish up an impressive year then, than to mix your first In Trance We Trust compilation, which is exactly what he's done! The latest in the long-running series (which looks set to hit its 20th edition next year) kicks off with the mellow drama of EDU Presents Traveller's iCare. From there Marc starts to push the mix out in other directions, with Rafaël Frost giving an electro-ish tint to 'Smash' and Virunga's 'Freefall' producing some techier tones. In the bring-back corner Dennis Sheperd gets some major uplift behind his new mix of Marc Marberg and Kyau and Albert's 'Neo Love' and Yuri Kane achieves much the same, reworking Cosmic Gate's Open Your Heart. Further in and ITWT18 doesn't fall short on the highlights. Saint X's wrought-iron-tough 'Gabriel', Eco and Radmilla's gorgeous, affecting 'Change The World' and Marc's own forthcoming 'Vimbuza' (which sees him in the studio with Dutch production legend Geert Hunink) all resonate quality. Edition 18 offers another as-ever on-form ITWT release and one you don't want to be without. So let's see if we can help with that! We've got 3 to give away! Extended Music Expands its Musical Base.
Extended Music is set to expand its musical base, strengthening the agency by signing three new artists. Internationally renowned DJ/producer Johan Gielen has signed to us with immediate effect. In addition, San has also joined Extended Music. His new album is set for a global release via Sony Music this summer. To conclude the signings, upcoming talent Marc Simz has also agreed to join us. Last month, Marc celebrated the 500th edition of Armin van Buuren's 'A State of Trance' radio show with a large-scale event in the vast Brabanthallen complex in Den Bosch, South Holland. This radio show has 15 million listeners in 26 countries. Marc currently performs each month in one of the largest clubs in the world, the Matrixx. In addition, he has enjoyed bookings in countries such as: USA, Norway, Germany and UK.

Wonderful news for the true trance addict! As Armin van Buurens radioshow ‘A State of Trance’ (ASOT) celebrates its 500th broadcast, Alda Events launches a big party the 9th of April. The most popular danceminded radioshow worldwide exists for ten years now and has grown to over 15 million listeners in 26 countries weekly. Obviously this milestone needs a celebration and a small one would not do justice to the success. That is why the huge Brabanthallen in Dutch city Den Bosch will be put to use for the largest trance event worldwide!
Armin: “I am very proud and happy with the 500th edition of the show. The way trance sounds today differs from ten years ago, but it has preserved the same feeling. Trance has evolved over the years. Nowadays trance is influenced by other styles like techno, minimal and techhouse. It is nice to have experienced this development and we will celebrate trance in the biggest way possible! Since we make ASOT for the fans, we felt they should be able to give their input on the line-up. For a period of one month, our listeners were given the opportunity to suggest DJ’s for the five events of ASOT. The result is a program with a wide range in variety of artists, not only specialized in pure trance but also progressive, tech-trance and uplifting trance. And off course the classic sound will not be left out! All live registrations of the five editions are to be viewed on special internet channels.”

People regularly listening to ASOT know Armin is well informed on the latest releases in trance and trance related styles. For his radioshow Armin keeps a close eye on new developments. Therefore he is one of the first to know about promising DJ’s and live-acts that deserve attention in Holland. So even though the line-up of ASOT is a secret for the time being, it does not come as a surprise some very talented artists will be on stage next to known headliners.
ASOT 500 WORLD TOUR
After last years successful tour of the 450th edition, for 2011 an even larger world tour is scheduled. This time literally based on the magic number ‘5’. Within five weeks, five cities on five continents are visited by ASOT. Those who are not able to travel the world do not have to miss out on anything as all five of the editions will be broadcast live on air.

Marc Simz presents a brand new EP featuring the tracks "Delusory Hope" and "Dreamcatcher" on our In Trance We Trust label. With this new EP Marc Simz treats us all on two new beauties. Brace yourself for two high powered tech trancers that in this case might even contain more tech than trance, which makes the entire EP very attractive for many DJs. "Delusory Hopes" opens the EP and immediately grabs the attention with banging beats and a truly pumping bass line. "The Dreamcatcher" closes the EP with a definite focus on the more trancy side of things. Especially the break here takes the cake. Melodic, touching and smooth, like a peaceful oasis in a very energetic tech trance floor filler. Anatoliy Antipin aka Jozhy K, together with the beautiful vocals of Angel, tells us the musical story of a "Perfect Woman". "Forbidden City" by Marc Simz should be described as one of those good old, fast paced and more or less dramatic productions. If one assumes that the title is represented in the music, then that "Forbidden City" must be an exciting but somewhat eerie place that still attracts everyone, since it is -of course- a place where you are not supposed to go. Marc's production is tight, crisp and focuses completely on the strings and synths. The melody line, the chords and especially the siren-like sweeps will drive the audience to the dance floor and keep 'em there. The latest artist to join the Neuroscience Recordings ranks is Dutch DJ/producer Marc Simz. Marc has already completed a remix for the label and previously released on labels such as In Trance We Trust and Black Hole, with support including Tiesto. In addition, he is currently resident at Holland's biggest club, the Matrixx.
Marc's experience as a DJ show's in his productions. 'Maybe' can only be described as full fire uplifting trance! Featuring a superb big room sound, Marc builds the track well, whipping us up in to frenzy. The track has a great melody and some very tasty synths... Check this out!
On remix duties we have Marc's fellow Dutchman, Setrise, also making a welcomed return to the label. Setrise puts his stamp on the original with his massive trademark sounds... Marc Simz turns in more of a big room trancer for his remix. Marc's remix comes has an increased BPM which works well with the tech-trance basline. The addition of some great soundscapes and melodic elements make this one a winner.
